I came across this site in search of some paragraph teaching strategies. I used a short video that I showed more than once. I also used a quiz that goes along with the video.
This site has alot of good instructional tools. Problem is it costs money. I used a two week trial that gave me access to everything on the site.
A great site for current events & incorporating non-fiction(even though mostly US content, they have international stories & items of interest). Reading level is Gr 4-6, however there is also a Gr 2-3 version. You can subscribe to be notified of new editions and get access to an informative teacher guide that even provides extension ideas and blackline masters. My students regularly checked this site out and used the articles to make True/False quizzes for classmates, or used them as a base for writing assignments (sharing your opinion).
Check out this website. It is full of web-based projects for all grades. My students are currently enjoying a Christmas Around the World webquest project. The ICT continuum makes references to webquests. It is amazing how many descriptors you hit while doing one project!
Hi Guys,
I have this site rss fed into my bloglines account. There are some very useful articles and sites given. Usually get updates daily, well worth it.

I have not yet started using my Smartboard. However, I found this site while surfing that has a tremendous number of rubrics for assessing students in many technology areas. It fits perfectly with our Literacy With ICT work.
I use it on my smartboard with the answer key sheilded until we are ready to correct together as a class. First we go through and collectively correct, then I move the answer key to see how well we did. The students enjoy the instant gratification of knowing their mark and it only takes 5-8 minutes of class. Lots of different edits to choose from, all true which is nice. The students love the trivia.
